Water Independence Hub is built and maintained by a small editorial team focused on water independence, off-grid living, and emergency preparedness. We are independent — not owned by any manufacturer or affiliate network — and we hold final editorial control over everything we publish.
Our Approach to Expertise
Most of what’s on this Site sits at the intersection of three disciplines: applied physics (atmospheric science, refrigeration, filtration), practical engineering (system design, plumbing, off-grid power), and consumer research (real product evaluation under real conditions). No single person is a world expert in all three. Our editorial process is built around that reality.
- We research each topic against primary sources — peer-reviewed studies, manufacturer specifications, government data, and direct testing where possible.
- We cross-check claims against independent sources before publishing.
- We update articles when meaningful new information emerges.
- We are upfront about what we know and what we’re inferring.
The Team
Note: This section will be updated as the editorial team grows and individual authors begin to publish under their own bylines. For now, content is published under the Water Independence Hub editorial standard, with a single editorial voice maintaining tone and quality.
Editor-in-Chief
The Site is led by an editor with a background in water systems research and content strategy. They oversee article commissioning, editorial standards, fact-checking, and product evaluation. Direct contact: editor@waterindependencehub.com.
Contributing Researchers
Specific articles draw on input from contributors with field experience in off-grid water systems, atmospheric water generation, well drilling, and emergency preparedness. Where contributor expertise is material to an article, we credit it explicitly.
Why You Don’t See Lots of Bylines (Yet)
This Site is in its first year. We’ve made a deliberate choice to focus on building a deep, accurate body of work before fragmenting it across many named authors. As the team grows, individual writers will begin publishing under their own bylines with full bio pages. For now, every article carries the same editorial standard regardless of which research source informed it.
Independence & Funding
Water Independence Hub funds itself through affiliate commissions on products we recommend. We are not paid for reviews, and no advertiser has the right to approve, edit, or veto our content. If a product we previously recommended stops being worth recommending, we update or remove the recommendation. See our Affiliate Disclosure for the full mechanics.
